What is the difference between these Steel Security Safes and the Fire & Waterproof models?

The safes in this category are primarily designed for anti-theft protection. They feature heavy-duty steel construction, motorized locking bolts, and pry-resistant hinges to prevent unauthorized access. While some models may offer fire-resistant steel, they are not UL-rated for fire and water submersion like the specialized Fire & Waterproof safes. These are ideal for securing valuables, cash, and electronics against burglary.

Can I bolt my Honeywell steel safe to the floor or wall for extra security?

Yes. Most Honeywell steel security safes come with pre-drilled mounting holes and an included mounting kit (hardware) to secure the unit to a flat surface. This prevents someone from simply carrying the safe away. It is generally recommended to bolt the safe to either the floor or the wall, but not both simultaneously, to ensure the best fit and structural integrity.

What happens if the batteries die or I forget my digital passcode?

Every Honeywell digital steel safe includes emergency override access keys. If the batteries fail or you lose your code, you can use the manual key to unlock the safe. It is highly recommended to store these override keys in a secure location outside of the safe so they are accessible when needed.
