The media is of the highest-grade activated carbon from bituminous coal, not the lower-quality coconut-shell carbon others use. Alumina pellets impregnated with potassium permanganate remove VOCs from the air. The shape of the CPZ filter allows for optimal contact between the air and the filtration media, while offering very low air restriction.
