Sooo Quiet

This is our second Honeywell Air Purifier. Unless it kicks into high-gear red mode, it's so quiet, which is great, because we've got it in a bedroom office. As far as air purification, it's primary job is to clean smoke-smell from the air during cold days when our neighbors burn their wood stove. So far it works wonderfully.

I Love It!

I love this air purifier and it is perfect for a room no larger than 190 square feet. The auto feature is great with the LED color change for air quality aimed at the floor. It is very quiet on low mode and not bad when it automatically goes high. Great buy, and air quality has drastically improved. Also, can upgrade pre filter from an A to +A, I already have the +A and will use once the A reached is maximum usage.

Awesome and Beautifully Designed Air Purifier

This air purifier is well designed and looks great in a room and is built for a room no larger than 190 square feet. The user will be able to notice immediate air quality results when in use. I use it in auto mode. The LED at the bottom feature is great which shows either green, yellow or red to indicate the room air quality. It would be nice if the LED can be dimmed or turned off, like on the iSight HPA5200B. Overall an excellent air purifier, and the user will love it, like I do. Also, the pre filter can be replaced with an A+ pre filter (A comes with it). The pre and heap filter are east to install.

How effective is the Honeywell HPA830W at removing allergens?
The Honeywell HPA830W is a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air purifier, which means it can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. This includes dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. The portable air purifier also has an activated carbon pre-filter that helps remove odors and VOCs.
How big of a room can the Honeywell HPA830W clean?
The Honeywell HPA830W is rated to clean rooms up to 190 square feet. This makes it a medium to large room air purifier. However, the actual size of the room that the HPA830W can clean will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
How loud is the Honeywell HPA830W?
The Honeywell HPA830W has three settings, and the noise level varies depending on the setting. At the lowest speed, this home air purifier is about as quiet as a whisper. At the highest speed, the portable air purifier is about as loud as a normal conversation.
How often do I need to change the filters on the Honeywell HPA830W?
The Honeywell HPA830W comes with a pre-filter and a HEPA filter. The pre-filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, and the HEPA filter should be replaced every 6-12 months. The actual replacement schedule will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
What filters do I need for the HPA830W?
The HPA830W uses Replacement True HEPA Filter J and Replacement Pre-filter A.
My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What's wrong?
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Replace the Filters. The HEPA Filters should be replaced every year and the Pre-Filter and Enhanced Odor and VOC Filters should be replaced every 3 months. Please note these are guidelines only and filters should be checked periodically as individual home conditions may vary. To ensure the unit is performing properly, replace with Certified Genuine Honeywell Filters.
How long should I run my Air Purifier?
In general, the unit will be most effective when doors and windows are closed. It is recommended that you run your air purifier while you are at home to help clean the air. If desired or conditions warrant, you may run your air purifier 24 hours a day
Can I wash any of the filters in my Air Purifier?
No. Washing the filters in your air purifier will ruin them.
What are VOCs?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted from various solids and liquids such as paints, cleaning supplies, building materials, and permanent markers. Some of these compounds can have adverse short and long term health effects and consistently have higher concentrations indoors than outside.
Do Honeywell Air Purifiers Emit Ozone?
No, Honeywell HEPA Air Purifiers use HEPA Filtration that does not release ozone into the surrounding area.
Is this a good air purifier for smoke?
The Honeywell Designer Series HEPA Air Purifier Tower is effective at removing allergens and particles as small as 0.3 microns from the air. The pre-filter helps remove odors and VOCs. This air purifier would be good for smoke as it can trap smoke particles.

The Honeywell Designer Series Air Purifier delivers proven HEPA performance with an odor fighting Pre-Filter, Certified Honeywell HEPA Filter and a series of UltraQuiet Features. This portable air purifier excels in establishing a comfortable surrounding. Additions such as an essential oil tray used for aromatherapy and a sleep mode specifically designed to ease you into a great night’s rest work beautifully together. This ultra quiet air purifier comes equipped with a VOC Sensor and Air Quality Indicator that will illuminate the floor. It’s a design intended to keep you informed at all times as you’ll be able to see the air quality level from across the room. This naturally pairs with the home air purifier’s Automatic Cleaning Mode that will adjust to the optimal cleaning level for your space.

The Honeywell Designer Series HEPA Air Purifier Tower uses Certified HEPA filters to help capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens and particles.1 This air purifier can help capture airborne particles such as dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander and mold spores in medium to large rooms (4.8 x air changes per hour in a 190 sq. ft.).2 This makes it an excellent pick as an air purifier for allergies or as a pet air purifier. In addition, the carbon activated pre-filter helps trap larger particles and helps reduce odors and VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

VOC Sensor and Air Quality Indicator

This Honeywell Designer HEPA Tower is equipped with a VOC Sensor that detects the level of VOCs in a room while providing an easy to identify visual display to indicate air quality. The Air Quality Indicator illuminates the floor below the unit. The VOC Sensor is constantly monitoring the surrounding air. The Air Quality Indicator light will illuminate either green, yellow, or red depending on the level of VOCs detected in the room:

  • Green - Good Air Quality: There is a very low level of VOCs in the surrounding area.

  • Yellow - Moderate Air Quality: There is a moderate level of VOCs in the surrounding area.

  • Red - Poor Air Quality: There is an elevated level of VOCs in the surrounding area.

A+ Genuine Pre-Filter

This home air purifier works with the Honeywell A and A+ Pre-Filter. The Pre-Filter is the first level of filtration and helps capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers and pet fur and helps to reduce VOCs & odors from cooking, smoke, bathrooms and pets. This filter should be replaced every 3 months. The filter check/reset light will remind you when it's time to change your filter. Initial filter included. To ensure stated product performance, use only genuine and certified Honeywell replacement filters.

J Certified True HEPA Filter

The Certified Honeywell True HEPA J Replacement Filter helps capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens, 0.3 microns & larger from any air passing through the filter. For optimal cleaning performance, replace your HEPA filter every 12 months. The filter check/reset light on the HPA830W Air Cleaner will remind you when it's time to change your filter. Initial filter included.

AHAM Verifide

The AHAM assigns a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) Rating that measures the volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner. The Honeywell HPA830W Designer Series HEPA Tower received the following CADR Rating:

  • 4.8 Air changes per hour in a 190 sq. ft. room
