C wire is required and is the power source. Without a C wire, The Honeywell Wi-Fi Touch Screen 7-Day Programmable Thermostat will not power up.

3. Do you have a wire connected to terminal labeled "C"?
- Yes - Congratualtions your system is compatible with this thermostat!
- No - Move to question 4.
4. Do you have an extra wire that is not connected to any terminal on the thermostat wall plate?

5. Do you have a wire connected to terminal labeled "G"?
