Good Wifi Thermostat

Excellent thermostat, love the ease of setting up and configuring the temperatures. However, I wish it had different Home and Sleep settings for weekends and weekday when Geofencing is active rather than having one setting for both. And another feature would be great to have is enabling Geofencing when a set schedule is active so if you leave the house than the thermostat would automatically set up to the away temperature.

Great product. I subsequently bought and installed a Lyric round thermostat, we have multiple HVAC units, because I wanted the white color to match the decor of that room. However, I like the presentation on the face of the T5 better, which includes the time.

What should I do if the motion or audio notifications from my Lyric C1 or C2 camera are too frequent?

If the motion detection is too frequent, try setting up detection zones and create exclusion zones by setting the sensitivity as zero or Low. If detection zones won't work for your situation, reduce the motion sensitivity setting to Low. To reduce audio detection triggers, go to the Settings section within your Lyric app and adjust the audio sensitivity setting to Low.

What is a C wire?

The C wire originates from your heating/cooling system and provides 24 volt power to your Lyric. "C" stands for common and there is no universal color used to designate this type of wire. If you do not have a C wire, your Lyric will instead draw power from your heating and cooling systems to power its battery.

Will the Lyric T5 Wi-Fi Thermostat still work if Wi-Fi connection is lost?

Yes, the temperature can be adjusted directly at the thermostat. However, some features, including geofencing, are managed only through the Lyric App and will not function while the connection is down. The Lyric thermostat will automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi once the network is restored.

What mobile devices can I use with my Lyric thermostat?

The Lyric app is available for iOS and Android smart phones and tablets. However, location based events such as geofence triggers will only work with smart phones. iOS: The Lyric app is only supported in iOS 9.0 or later devices.

Android: The Lyric app is supported in Android 4.2 and above.
The Lyric app is not supported in Blackberry or Microsoft devices.

What is geofencing?

A geofence is a virtual perimeter for a geographic area. Once you've set your geofence radius, your smartphone determines if you've crossed from one side of your geofence boundary to the other. Apple and Android have unique, proprietary methods of determining when this happens. When you are logged in to the Lyric app, the Lyric service receives a notice from your smartphone that your phone crossed the boundary. Lyric is not aware of your location, just that you crossed the boundary. Often, the geofence crossing happens at a predictable spot on your commute or while you're out and about. The exact spot, however, depends on a variety of conditions such as cell tower locations, other apps you have open on your smartphone, etc).
